Induction Ceremony of the Internship Programme on “Disability Studies” Held by PUNARBASA on 9th March, 2026
PUNARBASA, a rehabilitation institute that has been working for more than a decade in the field of therapy, awareness, and empowerment of persons with disabilities in Kendrapara district, has initiated an internship training programme for +3 second-year students of Kendrapara Tulsi Women’s College.
Under the syllabus framework of the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020, a 120-hour internship programme has been introduced for students studying in the fourth semester of +3 courses. The objective of this initiative is to provide practical exposure to students by enabling them to engage with various social and institutional sectors, thereby enhancing their skills and experiential learning.
In this phase of the training programme, 21 students from the Physics Department and 9 students from the English Department have joined the internship, informed the institute’s Assistant Secretary Bansidhar Mohanty. The training sessions are being conducted at the Mini Conference Hall of the PUNARBASA Therapy Centre for Children at Madhapur.
On the inaugural day, the programme was attended by the institute’s Chief Advisor Biraja Routray, Tapan Kumar Bala, Head of the English Department of Tulsi Women’s College, and Brahmananda Sethi, Head of the Physics Department.
During the training period, the students will receive awareness-oriented and practical training on “Disability and its Short-term and Long-term Understanding,” informed Kedarnath Barik, Technical Officer of the institute. Kendrapara, 9th March, 2026.
